Youth Employment

One of our key programmes at Te Ora Hou Wellington East is mentoring and supporting youth in the their transition to meaningful employment and training (2nd Base).  A major focus of our youth employment service is to ensure that:

• Youth are aware of the opportunities available to them
• Youth have mentoring before and after transitioning to employment
• Youth are aware of the key skills required to successfully enter the workforce
• Youth are aware of future focused career opportunities such as Information Technology 
• Youth have an acceptable level of literacy and numeracy required to participate in the workforce

Quite often we find that its the little things that make a big difference.  Getting alongside youth to ensure they are able to navigate their way through complex processes to find pathways to meaningful employment.
